Gorgeous property and cozy cabin

“ Steve was a wonderful host. We had such a lovely and relaxing time at the cabin. We were a party of 4, and were cozy and comfortable in the cabin. The sauna could be used dry or with steam, and it really helped to relax our bones and open up our lungs. We roared and Ohmmmm-ed! We can't wait to try out the outdoor showers when the weather warms up. The showers are private, but open to the river! The cabin was clean and well stocked. We bought our own firewood, but kindling was provided. We were very happy that there was no TV in the cabin. The grounds are amazing. There is a large fire-pit in a lovely, mossy, open area. Great for bare-footed dancing! The back screen porch overlooks the river and you can wander down to the river by walking a little ways back onto the property. There are string lights here and there, and the ones over the outdoor kitchen can actually be dimmed. Love it! We did not utilize the yurt, but plan to do so in the future. We all agreed that we would be back, with many friends. All in all, we had a lovely, relaxing, fun, and amazing time at Picaflores cabin. Thank you Steve! ”

Amazing energy

“Beautiful setting for a well thought out vacation rental. All of the comforts of home with a few extra surprises. The outdoor shower is really amazing. We were able to enjoy nice warm weather everyday, so we were able to take full advantage of the amenities. Cooked in the fantastic outdoor kitchen, ate with a view of Horse Creek. Had an evening fire in the firepit. Did I mention the outdoor shower? Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise. ”

Peaceful

“ My husband & I spent 3 nights at Picaflores cabin last week. We were grateful to Steve for allowing us to bring our 2 best friends, well behaved canine companions. We were delighted to be there. It is a lovely and peaceful place. We did not make use of the outdoor shower or sauna or the meditation yurt, but maybe next time. Fantastic place for nearby hikes. We hope to return in the near future. Monterey County residents ”

Serene and cozy retreat

“"Wow", couldn't stop saying that after we got there. From the well thought out cabin and towering trees next to the river, it was beautiful and just what we hoped for. The yurt has an energizing and calming effect, and we want to return to make more use of the outdoor kitchen, shower, and fire pit. The owner is very responsive to any questions. We plan on returning for sure. ”

It was really more than i expected. It was an adventure in finding unexpected things.

“The cabin was inviting and comfortable. It felt like home. I'd love to rent in summer for a family party. I would recommend to anyone. The cabin was clean and the kitchen had everything i needed. ”

Perfect spot and cabin for a relaxing getaway!

“The cabin is well appointed and away from the hustle and bustle. The sauna is a must. We went also to the Cougar hot springs and snowshoed in the area. ”

Magical Place

“This place is in a great location and has so much positive energy. The cabin itself was clean and beautifully decorated. It is located right on the river, so you can hear it rushing every time you step outside or open the door. The cabin fit our group of 5 just perfectly...you could fit more people in doors if you rent the yurt. Due to our small group, we didn't end up renting the yurt, but wish we had! We didn't get a chance to use the outside showers due to the weather, but the outside bonfire made up for that! The trails next to the cabin were great for exploring the beauty of Oregon. During out trip we took a drive up to the hot springs; I highly recommend doing this! We also had the pleasure of meeting Steve, who left us wonderful recommendations for hiking/exploring. We plan to come back again when the weather warms up! ”

Great stay with friends at the cabin

“We had 4 adults and 1 toddler stay at the cabin for the weekend. The cabin is very nice with plenty of room for 2 couples to stay. It sits on an amazing piece of property that abuts Horse Creek. I think our favorite thing about the place was the 2 open air outdoor showers that face the creek. The fire pit was also a nice thing to use and we had a great time walking around the property. We had no issues at all and Steve checked in with us on the second day to make sure everything was going well. Thanks Steve. ”

Perfect in the woods

“ The Picaflores property is unique. It worked well for our family. The comfy house kept us cool in summer heat, We played music on the screened-in porch, took short hikes to play on Horse Creek and Kings Creek, and ventured up to Cougar Reservoir for a big swim. The outdoor shower is WONDEFUL! Steve was particularly helpful. ”

Our Happy Place!

“This was our Third visit to the Cabin and once again Loved It! It looks to be more used than we found it before and this means that other people are discovering this treasured place to unplug, unwind, relax and breathe for a few days or weeks! Steve has made this place such a wonderful retreat- we can't express in words the feeling we have while at the Cabin. It is perfect! Thanks Steve! We will be back! ”

Enchanted Forest

“Secluded, unique, charming, artful, and serene are only a few descriptions of this cabin and property. The annual women’s trip of over fifteen years found its most favored accommodations to date. Steve, the property owner, has generously shared his love of the arts with those of us fortunate enough to visit. The background sound of the river lulled us to sleep each night. The bath house allowed us to look forward to that morning shower more than ever, and the outdoor cooking space created the perfect setting for evening meal preparation. Truly a memorable vacation. ”

Secluded creekside cabin 10 minutes from McKinzie Bridge

“What a find! Cozy cabin decorated with indigenous fabrics and art from around the world. Peaceful, quiet, private getaway conveniently located close to McKinzie Bridge. Did I mention the outdoor bath house with sauna, two toilet stalls, and two private showers enclosed on three sides with fourth side open to the creek? Oh, and the outdoor kitchen, fire ring, outdoor covered eating area, and secluded oriental pagoda? And the yurt? My favorite moments were sitting in the glider on the screened-in creekside porch sipping my morning coffee. Doesn't get any better than that. Lots of options here, and comfortable for a couple (we were celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary) or for a dozen.close friends. Don't go here if you are tied to you cell phone though. Cell coverage isn't available except through wifi. And there's a phone in the cottage if someone really needs to find you. Drive the 10 minutes to McKinzie Bridge and you can have your daily cell fix. Or stay here to really unplug and recharge. My Response Delightful, thanks for sharing your experiences here and views of the property and thanks for conscientiously leaving no footprints. Hope you also taken the walk to King Creek on the Western boundary of the property, which is one of the pristine streams in this watershed. ”

“I came to my first retreat not knowing what to expect…sort of hoping for answers to some questions with which I was wrestling. What I am discovering is an ever-deepening community that loves and supports the essence of who I am, and helping me discover that.  This process, a way of life – this returning to retreat once a season to be in community for this transformative work of listening to and honoring each others’ souls – is one I hope to continue in my journey. It is indescribably valuable to be able to share this journey so deeply and intimately with others. ”
